This is my second installment of oil paintings that I am sharing on my blog. To me they capture a variety of subjects and approaches to oil painting that delate to my development as a painter so far. The southwest paintings are from a workshop I attended a few years ago at the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico where Georgia O’Keefe lived and painted. The horizontal sunset was painted from one of the photos I took and the simplified one was painted on location “plein air”. You will also see a plein air painting of the Platte River that was in a show at the the Student Art League of Denver. Lastly, the small still life paintings of the different fruits were done in my studio.
